With the recent retirement of Club Mother Trudy van Luyn at the 130th Anniversary Reunion, the Men of the German Club embarked on the search for a new Club Mother during the fall semester of 2022. Their search culminated in the selection of Nancy Brittle.

Nancy grew up in Virginia Beach and graduated from Princess Anne High School in 1968. After graduating from Virginia Tech with her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics (1972), she taught Junior High School math for six years before changing careers to work for IBM, Corp. Her 30+ years with IBM included positions in sales, systems engineering, management, education, and she retired as the Client Solutions Executive for IT Optimization in the East Region.

Nancy is married to a German Club alumnus and former Board of Directors member Coleman (‘Rooster’) Brittle '72 and lives in Blacksburg. Nancy has two sons (both Hokie grads); and Rooster has two sons (both Hokie grads) and a daughter who is a University of Tennessee grad. Collectively, Nancy and Coleman have 15 grandchildren.

Nancy is actively involved in the VT Monogram Club, Blacksburg Sports Club, University Club, and enjoys traveling, golfing, and attending as many Virginia Tech sporting events as possible.

Welcome Nancy, it's a pleasure to have you as our new Club Mother!
